An Arrest; A Gold Key Turned In; Balloons Set Off Alarm

The following information was supplied by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Oct. 5, 2012

Police arrested Bianca M. Ramos, 23, of 25 Myrick St., Ayer, on Sept. 29, at 12:03 a.m. in Acton, at 421 Mass. Ave., and charged her with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a stop sign violation.

A man turned a gold key on a green chain in to police at 2:54 p.m. He said he found the key on his mail box.

Balloons set off a motion alarm at 9:23 p.m. at a Mass. Avenue address. The alarm company called police.

In other police news from Sept. 29:

A caller reported at 1 a.m. that a smoke detector was activated in a home on Bay Drive. The home is in Westford; the Westford Fire Department was notified.

Police responded to a Canterbury Hill Road address after dispatch heard a female and a male yelling during a 911 call at 2:43 p.m. The argument was verbal.

A tree limb was reported in the street on Esterbrook Road at 4:55 p.m.  It was removed.

A train guard was reported down on Parker Street at 6:03 p.m.  According to the MBTA, a train had broken down near South Station; it was OK to have traffic cross the tracks and the T would contact Acton police when a train was ready to move through.  The responding officer reported that the gates had gone back up.

A noise complaint at 11:42 p.m. took police to Strawberry Hill Road. People at an apartment there turned down the music.
