UPDATED: Acton-Boxborough Shelter in Place Lifted After Bear Leaves Area
Police believe the bear is moving into South Acton.
ACTON, MA — A bear sighting near Acton-Boxborough Regional High School had caused students to be held inside, according to Acton Deputy Chief Richard Burrows.
At 11:50 p.m., The shelter-in-place order has been lifted at all school campuses, according to Burrows. Burrows added that the bear was a black bear and that nobody was injured.
Acton and Massachusetts Environmental Police were quickly able to determine that the bear had left the area. Burrows stated that the bear was believed to have moved into South Acton.
