Boy in Crosswalk Hit by Car, No Serious Injuries

There were no serious injuries when a small boy was struck by a car while in a crosswalk on Massachusetts Avenue Thursday evening.

According to Acton Police Officer, Jim Cogan, a young boy was struck by a motor vehicle in the crosswalk on Massachusetts Avenue and Windsor Avenue on Thursday, around 5 p.m. The boy suffered no serious injuries and was not sent to the hospital.

The boy was with his grandmother and a group of friends when a vehicle was pulling onto Windsor Avenue from Massachusetts Avenue and struck the boy, which knocked him to the ground.

“The driver of the vehicle said he saw the group waiting on the sidewalk and as he turned onto Windsor, all of a sudden the boy ran out and that’s when he slammed on his brakes and it was luckily a minor hit,” said Cogan. “I think the driver was more shaken up than the boy.”

“It’s good to hear the kid was fine because within a matter of inches it could have been a different story,” said Glickler.
