Acton Futures - June 23 and beyond

Help choose a future for Acton

Hello to anyone interested in the future of Acton.

Today, I'm writing as part of the Acton 2020 committee, the town board that is responsible for guiding the development of the town's next comprehensive community plan. You can read all about us at acton2020.info

We have been busy blogging about burning issues as well as  preparing for our next big public event , “Choose Your Own Acton,” which will be held Thursday, June 23rd at 6:30pm.

We have posted a draft version of the Inventory of Existing Conditions, which details current conditions of 9 different components in town, including Population & Housing, Economic Development, Historic & Cultural Resources, Natural Resources, Transportation & Circulation, Open Space & Recreation, Public Facilities, Land Use, and Sustainability.  We have now created a way for folks to easily comment on this document here.  If you are interested in commenting, please do so by Tuesday, May 31st.  After that, we will be finalizing the document.

And here are the links to our last several burning issues blog posts:

Finally, do you have your own Acton “burning issue?”  If so, we’d love to hear it.  We are opening our blog to guest bloggers.    Find out how to do this here.

Look forward to hearing from you any time, or seeing you on June 23rd!
