Well, it’s over…and the result was not what we had hoped for. That’s right, Ground Hog Day has come and gone, with Punxsutawney Phil proclaiming that winter will continue for another 6 weeks…( I love getting weather futures from a rodent…)(Although had he said, ‘winter is so done’, I’d be in his camp, totally.) But this year, a record crowd of upwards of 15,000 believers/fans watched and waited at Gobbler’s Knob in Pennsylvania for the prediction. And despite the fact that copy cat cities like Staten Island, NY now have their own ground hog prognosticator (Charlie), Phil remains the hands down favorite. (I mean, Charlie also forecast a Giants’ win so his likeability ratings have really taken a hit, at least in New England…)
But, don’t despair…what HASN’T come and gone is Project Graduation! And there are no copy cats on this one. It’s truly one of a kind. Ask any kid who has ever been. And like Ground Hog Day, there will be fans, fun and friendship as the kids celebrate one last time together.
There’s still time to get involved… so join a team…volunteer before, during or after the event. Contact abprojgrad12@gmail.com to see how you can help.
