Cavaretta for Senate: "Education Before Evergreen" & "Protecting Children Before Repeat, Violent Felons"

I don't understand how my opponent is willing to gamble millions on failed, Evergreen Solar Tax Giveaways, but isn't willing to spend 1 million to help stop early parole for repeat sex offenders?

“Melissa’s Bill” recently passed the MA Senate 31-7 and institutes no early parole for repeat sex offenders and certain violent felons. Despite my 2012 Opponent's opposition, the compromise version of this bill now heads to the Governor’s Office for his signature.

I urge Gov. Deval Patrick to sign the bipartisan measure-named after Melissa Gosule, the tragfic victim of one particularly heinous crime, which gained notoriety over the last several years here in Mass. and across the country.

Please call 617-725-4005 and ask Mr. Patrick to SIGN THE BILL this week.

However, this is not the first time my Opponent has put the special interests in front of the interests of constituents:

From pushing an ill-timed 'carbon tax' on all MA Small Businesses struggling in Recession; to voting against the recent Food Stamp Cash Reform Proposal, to even voting to shrink the drug-free zone around MA public schools, these actions are far out of the mainstream or political center.

As a MA certified teacher and small business owner, I want to bring my unique experiences to Beacon Hill as an independent State Senator who will put education, the economy and law-abiding citizens FIRST.

Many Acton residents are working twice as hard, but making half as much. I understand what it is to struggle during this brutal, never-ending downturn. Let's create an environment in this state where all small businesses offer more full-time jobs, which in turn, helps properly fund our public schools.

My Economic Plan does this by lowering tax rates, ending giveaways (like the one Senator Eldridge supported for the bankrupt Evergreen Solar) and freezing unnecessary regulations on Massachusetts Job Creators.
