Checking Out the Local Table
The Local Table's new bistro menu consists of lighter fare, such as appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, and flatbread pizzas. Microbrewed beer and wines by the glass are also available.

The restaurant formerly known as Savoury Lane has undergone the next stage in its metamorphosis. Current owner Rose Saia bought the place just over a year ago, gave it a facelift, added a bar, and changed the spelling of the name to "Savory Lane." My family and I visited last summer to try their new Sunday brunch, and their Homemade Hash and Eggs and their Brioche French Toast were first rate.
Toward the end of last year, Saia changed the restaurant's name again, this time to the "," to highlight the menu's reliance on produce from area farms and vendors, as well as to position the restaurant as a place where the locals could go to have a meal or just relax with a pint of beer or a glass of wine.
Unfortunately, the excellent Sunday brunch seems to have fallen by the wayside, as the Local Table now concentrates on its "Cafe Lunch," the mainstay of the establishment, as well as its "Bistro Evenings" on Thursday and Friday nights and all day Saturday.

My wife, son, and I visited the Local Table on a Friday night in January. The high ceilings and ample lighting made the interior seem bright and airy even at night, just as it did at midday last July. The dining room was sparsely populated when we arrived, but customers trickled in until about every other table was occupied, while a couple of people sat at the small bar.
The current bill of fare consists of lighter items, like appetizers, sandwiches, and burgers. You'll find pan-fried edamame dumplings with a sesame soy dipping sauce, Caesar salad, and a grilled Tuscan sandwich made with chicken or prosciutto. As a healthy touch, grilled and baked dishes are emphasized, rather than deep fried. No true entrees are available, as of now.
