Composting Workshops In Town- Mark Your Calender
Do you want to know more about composting? Come to one of our composting workshops at the Acton Memorial Library on January 17th and January 24th to learn more.
Did you know that you can convert 27% of your household trash into a fertile soil called compost? Compost is the product of controlled breakdown of organic material by microorganisms and worms. The process is called composting. Compost is a fantastic natural fertilizer and is much better for the environment than chemically engineered fertilizers! You can use it to make your garden rich and healthy.
About thirty million pounds of trash is generated in Acton per year and nearly eight million pounds of that is compostable. Imagine if Acton began composting, our town could save a lot of money. As part of a team of four eighth graders, The Black Gold Miners, we are trying to build awareness about composting and its benefits in Acton.
Come to our free workshops on January 17th and January 24th at 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm at the Acton Memorial Library. You will learn a lot about composting and how it works.
