Don’t Be Fooled by “Organic Hair Color”!

More and more salon clients are leaning toward a more "natural" or "gentle" approach to hair color. But currently there is not an organic permanent hair color that is made entirely without the following:

• Ammonia
• Peroxide
• p-Phenylenediamine
• diaminobenzene=AD

Some of these products contain “organic” ingredients in their base for the color, but still have said chemicals in the product (sometimes more than necessary).  Here at wendyo Salon, we use permanent color with a calibrated ammonia system.  Translation: product only uses minimum amount of ammonia need for color development.  This results in a richer and longer lasting color.

Some may opt for the non-permanent variety in color for the more gentle approach.  This includes semi-permanent, demi-permanent, or even (ugh do I dare say) henna.

There are risks of allergic reactions associated to using henna and other plant dyes. Scalp dermatitis is a common side effect that can be very itchy and sometimes painful.   Hair loss has also been associated with using henna.

Ask us about our demi-permanent color.  This is the best solution for blending or covering gray and almost any other creative coloring idea without using any ammonia.
