End of Big Three Era?
Was tonight the last of the Big Three Era? What's the future for the Boston Celtics?
After tonight's tough loss, many are wondering whether tonight officially marked the last game of the Big Three Era. It sure seemed like it as Coach Doc Rivers, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce all talked in the past tense about the five year time period.
Next year:

Starters
In looking at next year's roster, there is a solid group of starters. The Celtics could have Rondo, Bradley, Pierce, and Bass all coming back. Their big question will be in the Center position. The Celtics have two first round draft picks (#21, #22). If they can get a rebounder, and a defender, that would be the best. Players like Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond, or Tyler Zeller are optimal. Now some of the players mentioned (esp. Davis who's supposed to go #1) will probably be taken before; it will be interesting if the Celtics want to trade up or do a two for one deal to get a legitimate center. If the Celtics don't trade up, probably the most realistic pick is Fab Melo.
Big Three?
Should Danny Ainge bring them back? I think so, but on a limited role. If you can get Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to both comeback for $10 million a year each, and tell them they have to come off the bench, that would be the best. Even though their seasoned veterans and old (both 36 years old), they could easily play twenty minutes a night against the second units of most opposing teams.
Bench
I would resign E'twuan Moore. He's been a perfect professional, and has the consistent ability to make shots. I'd also resign either Mickael Pietrus or Marquis Daniels: both players can defend well off the bench and guard the opposing team's best player. The big thing I think this team needs is someone with fire power off the bench. Whether it's Jeff Green or someone else like Jason Terry, the Celtics need some energy and scoring.
Draft Picks
The Celtics need to get a center, and a small forward who can score. The big thing about this year's team was lack of off the bench scoring.
Conclusion
There's a lot of uncertainty out there in terms of signing free agents, getting good draft picks, and possible trades. This summer will be very tough for Danny Ainge, and will be interesting with how he goes about.
My Optimal Roster:
Starters:
Rondo, Bradley, Pierce, Bass, Drummond
Bench:
Moore, Allen, Pietrus/New Free Agent (Jeff Green?), Garnett, Stiemsma/Johnson
Reality:
There's a lot that I'm missing. There's so many free agents out there, it's ridiculous. The Celtics concerns main concern are small forward, and center, and a player to come off the bench to score.
