Usually I dress in jeans and a polo shirt. But if I'm honest, I'll admit that sometimes I splurge and buy a nice designer polo or dress shirt. Usually a little more that I want to spend.
Well, I was browsing in a men's clothing store in Concord (how many are there?) and saw some really nice shirts. Most were in the $110- $140 range. I couldn't believe it. I know that some clothes cost that much, but despite really cool designs and high quality cotton, way too much for me.
Well the other other night, I'm walking around Harvard Square waiting for a class that I was taking to start. There is a store that used to specialize in footwear, but now also carries what I would call very trendy clothes. I went in. Again some really nice dressier button down shirts with a great drape. Cost? $355. I looked around. Most of the people shopping in the store looked to be early twenties. Some were buying stuff. How do kids that age afford $355 shirts??? The place has been in business for a while and has expanded their space so obviously they are doing well. Somebody out there is buying the $355 shirt! I want to meet them. Maybe they'll buy me lunch.
