- A fine tooth comb
- A light hairspray
- Bobby pins
Start by prepping your hair with some strong hold mousse. (Natalie of our Davis Square location recommends Framesi’s BY Sparkling Mousse Strong). Work through your hair, smoothing out the top and preparing the rest for a flexible hold. Begin the updo by lightly backcombing a “U”-shaped section at the crown of your head, taking the front section back, and pin in place. (PHOTO 2)
Pull a small section from one side of your head and layer it at the back of your head over the first pinned section. Pin in place and spray lightly with hairspray. (Natalie recommends Framesi’s BY Light Mist Hairspray). (PHOTO 3)
Repeat with a small section of the other side and crisscross it over the previously pinned section. Pin in place and spray lightly with hairspray. (PHOTO 4)
For the final step, gather all of the remaining hair and twist in a clockwise direction to create a tight ballerina bun at the nape of your neck. Pin the loose end at the base of your neck. (PHOTO 5)
Once complete, spray all over with hairspray., and finish by gently smoothing any fly-aways with a shine gloss. (Natalie recommends Framesi’s BY Pearl Shiner) Ta-da!
