I moved to Acton back in 2005. I'll be honest, I never really lived there. I slept, watched TV and generally any time I wasn't working (which was a lot back then) was spent there. My job was in the town I previously lived in, so I kept going to the same places, Drycleaners, supermarkets, gas stations, etc.
In 2007 I met my girlfriend (now wife) and I moved in with her out in Saugus, only returning to Acton to pick up rent checks from the tenantsrenting out my condo. In May of 2011, we moved back to Acton. My wife, who has never lived any place other than Saugus, found living in Acton, very interesting and certainly not lacking any convenience, which is surprising coming from someone that grew up in the shadow of the uber commerce of RT1. We just got married this past September, and now that all the planning and preparation that goes into a wedding behind us, we're bothsettling in and (re)discovering new things and places in the area. Food, beverages, shopping and the like.
In this blog, I'm going to try to re-discover this neat little town we call home. Things have changed since I moved here back in 2005. Originally I had no idea as to what was in the area. I wish I had a source for people new to the area as to where to go for the usual things and the necessities. Real opinions, something more than a yellow pages listing or some star rating. Hopefully I can share my experiences with you all.
