I am a painter. Mostly landscapes of scenes in the area. Right now I am having the equivalent of writer's block. I've done a bunch of paintings, some came out OK, some not so good. I've been looking at various artists I admire in different galleries and online. I want to paint as well as them. But I'm not there yet. So I procrastinate. Maybe I'll get some more brushes? Maybe I need to take some more photos? A few years ago, I was into writing. Mostly fiction, short stories. Same thing. Procrastinate for ever. The wise advice said you just had to sit down in front of your computer and get started. No matter what. Just start writing. I suppose the same can be said for painting. Today I think I will just put out some paints on the palette, mix them up, and just start. Or maybe go to lunch first.
