Solarize Acton at Tier 2 and Climbing!

Solarize Acton has reached Tier 3 pricing: why that's good for anyone thinking of installing Solar.

Tier 2! If you already know about Solarize Acton, you know this is good news. Solarize Acton is a time-limited program to bring as much solar energy as possible to Acton homes and small businesses. The program’s first five contracts for solar energy have been signed, which has brought the project to Tier 2 pricing (out of 5 tiers).

Why is this such good news? It means that the price of solar energy for those already signed up for Solarize Acton installations just dropped by $1,200 for an average-size system! And here’s the kicker: when five or so more Acton residents sign contracts, the price will drop again, to Tier 3. Several more signups? Another price drop (Tier 4). As each tier is reached, the installed price of an average system goes down by another $.25/watt. Each tier (1–5) is reached when the total wattage of all contracts signed exceeds 25, 50, 150, and 250 watts, respectively. The holy grail of Solarize Acton? Tier 5 pricing!

“The more, the merrier” was never truer. If you’ve ever wanted to considered solar, now’s the time — incentives have never been better. If you contract for a system through Solarize Acton, you’ll lower (or for some, eliminate!) your electricity bill, reduce emissions associated with production of electricity, and help reduce the cost even more for you and all other Solarize Acton participants.

Solarize Acton brings Acton home- and small business owners high-quality, low-cost, solar energy installations. Solarize Acton makes purchasing (or leasing) of solar panel and/or solar hot water installations available through a tiered pricing program: the more capacity installed (in the aggregate), the cheaper it gets for everyone. For details on the program and the five pricing tiers, visit: www.solarizeacton.org/solarize_details.htm.

The project is a joint effort of the Town of Acton, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, the Department of Energy Resources, New England Clean Energy (the vetted installer), Acton community partners, and the Acton volunteer planning team. Please spread the word, and visit www.SolarizeActon.org or www.SolarizeActon.com for much more information on the program.
