World Drumming Is For Everyone
FREE CLASS TUESDAY NIGHT AT THE CAMBRIDGE YMCA (near Central Sq)
If you've never tried World Drumming, you are missing out on something most worthwhile. From its relaxing and meditative benefits, to its music enjoyment and rich cultural diversity, it brings a smile to every face.
Over the past few months I took my first round of classes from Zach Nazar, Rhythmic Explorations at the Cambridge YMCA. I recommend them highly. Zach's teaching style is unique and expert; and the friendships I made with other students most enjoyable. The classes were well worth the trip into Cambridge and we finished with a "bang", marching in a St. Patrick's Day Parada in Southie on Sunday and performing the following Wednesday at the Boston Women's Fund "Men Take A Stand" event at a Place With a Soul across the channel from South Station. The strong ties between the music and community service communities were outstanding. Ones I hope to help build in Acton in the coming months.
Tuesday night (Apr 10 @ 7:15) at the Cambridge YMCA there is a free sample class which is a treat in itself. For more info about Rhythmic Explorations and Zach visit: RhythmicExplorations.com

And for those not able or inclined for a Cambridge adventure and to support a most worthy local business, the Boston Drum Center on 2A near Dunkin Donuts is a most knowledgeable, friendly and course offering alternative. I haven't visited one of their courses yet, but the time I spent with the owner to get smarter about West African djembe drums, courses and local class participation was most well spent and very graciously and generously provided.
