Acton Congregational Church

On the Sunday after Juneteenth, we open one of the most uncomfortable stories in all of scripture — and we tell it the way it is almost never told. Not as Abraham's story. Not as Sarah's. Hers.
Her name is Hagar: a slave, a foreigner, a mother sent into the desert with a day's water and left to die. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom can be proclaimed and still arrive late and no one in scripture knew the distance between mercy and justice better than this woman. You may think you know how her story ends. You do not. The rest of it is carried by people who have never once sat in our pews, and it leads to a spring still flowing this very morning.
Come and meet the God she dared to name.Come and worship with us on Sunday, June 21st, at 9:30am. During this Fourth Sunday after Pentecost, as we welcome Rev. Karen Hodges to the pulpit. She will lead us in a service full of prayer, scripture, reflection, and inspiration.

In this introductory class you will learn the foundational elements of the Zentangle®&nbsp;Method, a meditative form of art that blends simple patterns with the practice of mindfulness. Through guided instruction, you will explore how intentional lines and repetition can help reduce stress and nurture relaxation and flow. During this class, you will create your own small work of Zentangle-inspired art with gentle coaching in a peaceful, non-judgmental environment. You will leave with the tools and knowledge to continue your practice at home or to pursue Zentangle classes beyond the basics.
<ul><li>Adult / 16+&nbsp;</li><li>No previous art experience necessary.&nbsp;</li><li>All materials provided and each student will take home a kit of drawing supplies.</li></ul>
