Christmas Eve Services at First Parish Church in Stow
First Parish Church's 4 p.m. Christmas Eve service is geared towards children, while its 9 p.m. service is geared towards adults.

On Christmas Eve, First Parish Church of Stow & Acton (FPC) in Stow will hold two services at 4 and 9 p.m. The first is geared towards children, while the second is a more traditional service that’s geared towards adults. All are welcome!
At 4 p.m., FPC will hold its annual “Nativity in a Trunk” service. Plenty of children will participate in recreating the Christmas story. FPC’s Junior Choir and Youth Choir will perform, and there will be familiar carols for all to sing. The service will conclude with a candle-lighting ceremony.
The 9 p.m. service will feature traditional Christmas carols and anthems, the reading of the story of the birth of Jesus from the Christian Gospels, and a candle-lighting ceremony. It will be a quieter and more traditional service than the 4 p.m. service, with beautiful music provided under the direction of Mike Pfitzer by the FPC Adult choir, organist/pianist Sanghee Kim, and talented guest musicians. An extended prelude of Christmas music will begin at 8:45 pm, so be sure to come early!
