Acton-Boxborough Marching Band Brings Home Gold (VIDEO)

The ABRHS Marching Band took home the gold medal at the MICCA (Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association) in Lowell Sunday.

This was written-in to Acton Patch by Cris Petcu, from the Acton-Boxborough Friends of Music:

The Acton Boxborough Marching Band competed in the MICCA (Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association) Marching Band Festival Finals at Cawley Stadium in Lowell on Sunday, earning a gold medal.  The 146 member division IV band performed a field show featuring melodies from the beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, “The Sound of Music”.  The show was conducted by Drum Majors: Danika Teverovsky, Jason Wu, and Matt Kokkinos.  The staff includes JP Lanctot, drill instructor, Jeremy Denzer, color guard, Chris Correia and Peter Broggi , percussion, Jackie Ziegenfuss, student teacher from UMass Amhurst, and band director Mark Hickey.  This award winning field show can be seen again this season at the AB football halftime show on Leary Field at ABRHS November 4th and November 11th.
