Counselors Available for Acton Students in Wake of Marathon Bombings

Students returned to school today, a week after the Boston Marathon attacks, which occurred during April vacation.

The Boston Marathon bombings happened one week ago today while Acton students were on April vacation.

As those students return to their classrooms today, Acton Public Schools is ready to assist those students having difficulty coping with the tragedy.

"Each school principal is using their discretion as to the appropriate response," Superintendent Stephen Mills said. "However, I did instruct all of them to make sure counselors are available to any student who demonstrates the need."

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, the second bombing suspect, remains in serious condition according to the FBI. He was captured Friday night after a gun fight with authorities in Watertown.
