DONATE YOUR USED BIKES, April 12th!

Donate the bikes you no longer want!

In conjunction with the nonprofit organization Bikes Not Bombs (BNB), the Boxborough Democratic Town Committee is sponsoring a bike‐drive.

BNB is a Boston‐based project that recycles donated bikes and trains young people to fix their own bikes and become employable mechanics. Since its establishment in 1984, BNB has sent thousands of refurbished bikes to cities in the United States and to communities in countries such as South Africa, Ghana, and Guatemala.

The bike‐drive in Boxborough will take place on Saturday, April 12. It will be held in the parking lot of the Boxborough Town Hall, 29 Middle Road, from 10 AM to 2 PM, rain or shine. Bikes of all sizes and types, as well as bike parts, are accepted. However, please note that bikes with rusted parts due to significant weatherization cannot be accepted.

There is no charge for participating in the bike‐drive, but voluntary donations of $10 per bike will be gratefully accepted by BNB to help defray the cost of shipping refurbished bikes to their new homes. Tax receipts for donated bikes and donations will be available at the bike‐drive.
