Learning to skate inspires self-confidence in children and gives them a healthy activity to enjoy throughout their lives. This fun-filled and instructional program will start with Snowplow Sam's introduction to Skating and go right up through Basic 8. Skaters will get a perfect start to learning beginner elements such as stroking, introduction to edges, turns, basic spins and jumps. They will be well prepared to move on to Advanced classes. Class includes 30 minutes of lesson and 30 minutes of free skate/practice time. Students should bring skates (not double runner blades), a helmet, mittens or gloves, and warm, layered clothing. A yearly registration fee of $20.00 will be charged to each skater and includes your U.S. Figure Skating membership fee.
