Open Door Theater will present the popular musical "Fiddler On The Roof" at the Dragonfly Theater, RJ Grey Junior High, 16 Charter Road, Acton from March 23-April 1st. For months, a cast and crew of over 150 people from Acton and surrounding towns have been collaborating to come together as part of this local theater family. Over 80 cast members are Acton and/or Boxborough residents, including featured performers Steve Shamah as Tevye, Julia Roth as Chava, Alison Takacs as Grandma Tzeitel, Laurie Corron as Yente, Olivia Bowe-Shulman as Bielke, Alison Rutyna as Shprintze, Toby Shaya as Fyedka, Andrew Haan as Mendel and Julie Jannke as Fruma-Sarah.
Open Door is a non-profit community theater company that has been creating learning experiences through theater for adults, children, and people with special needs since it was founded in 1980.
As guided by Open Door's philosophy statement, the cast of “Fiddler On The Roof” includes people of all ages ranging from 9 to adult, experienced singers and those new to the stage, spanning all ranges of abilities. These hard-working performers come together to create a moving, stunning production.

Performances of "Fiddler on the Roof" will take place March 23, 24, 30 and 31 at 7:30 pm with matinee performances on March 25, 31, and April 1st at 2:00 pm. Tickets for “Fiddler On The Roof” are available online at www.MKTix.com and through cast members. Individual tickets are $12 each.
For the 7th year in a row, Open Door Theater is pleased to offer a live American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation during the Sunday, March 25th matinee at 2:00 pm. A section of the theater will be reserved for the hearing-impaired; please indicate if you would like to be seated in this section when ordering your tickets. This program is supported in part by grants from the Acton-Boxborough and Littleton Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

“Fiddler” is the beloved story of Tevye, a poor dairyman in Czarist Russia who tries to maintain his family and the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community while outside influences threaten to tear apart all that he holds dear. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, “Fiddler On The Roof” has touched audiences around the world with its humor, warmth and honesty. Its universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness. “Fiddler On The Roof” features book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. Based on Sholem Aleichem's stories by special permission of Arnold Perl. “Fiddler On The Roof” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
