Vadim Kolpakov, one of the most prominent and renowned Russian 7-string guitarists in the world, and his nephew, Sasha Kolpakov Jr. will present An Evening of Virtuoso Guitar Music at Mt. Calvary Church on Saturday, December 5th at 6pm.

This family ensemble continues the tradition of the Kolpakov artistic dynasty. Vadim and Sasha combine music from different parts of the world, including Spanish flamenco, American jazz, Latin rhythms and Romany (Gypsy) funk sounds. The duo has performed in many U.S. and international cities such as Miami, New York, Charlotte, as well as in Singapore.

Vadim Kolpakov is a virtuoso Russian-Romany seven-string guitarist, dancer, and vocalist. He has performed extensively in Russia and abroad, including at Carnegie Hall and the Kremlin. His musical repertoire includes 19th-century Russian seven-string guitar, Gypsy, classical, rap, pop and world music. Sasha Kolpakov Jr, a graduate of the Nostsova Music College, has traveled the world with various musical ensembles. He performs classical, Russian-Romany, pop, flamenco and jazz music.

The evening includes famous Gypsy tunes in original arrangements, Spanish music, popular American songs and jazz melodies, and features the vocals and musical talents of Olga France and other special guests. $15 suggested donation. For more information please visit www.mtcalvaryacton.org
