Five Pounds of Marijuana Confiscated by Boxborough Police

The following information was supplied by the Boxborough Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Jason C. Stevenson, 28, of 614 Proctor Road, Manchester, N.H. was pulled over by Boxborough police detective Nathan Bowolick at 9:30 p.m. on Monday, April 16 for allegedly operating a vehicle with a suspended license. The vehicle was towed and five pounds of marijuana in plastic bags were discovered. A box of .40 caliber ammunition was also discovered.

Stevenson was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license, possession of a class D substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a class D substance over one ounce and illegal possession of ammunition. Stevenson was released on bail and will be arraigned on April 17 at the Ayer District Court.

Detective Keith Campbell, youth services officer for the Acton Public Schools said that there is obviously a demand for marijuana out there and anytime this amount is confiscated the better it is for the surrounding communities.

“I’m not familiar with the actual specifics of the arrest but I think anytime you can get the quantity of that amount off the street, the better off,” said Campbell.
