Five things to know about the major motion picture being filmed in your town this summer.

1. Hollywood is coming to Acton: The movie "Labor Day" is due to have scenes filmed in Acton this summer. The movie is directed by Jason Reitman and will star Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. According to the announcement of the movie made by Town Manager Steve Ledoux, filming should start sometime around June 25 and end August 1/2.
2. The production crew picked out as the home of Winslet's character and the to film the scenes for Winslet's character who teachers a Senior exercise class.
3. The production crew is renting out the parking lot of Honeywell Sensing & Control on Discovery Way to store their film equipment.

4. It's a once in a lifetime chance to read the book before watching the movie filmed in your town: The movie is based on the 2009 book "Labor Day," by American author Joyce Maynard.
5. Director Jason Reitman was at the Acton Senior Center Wednesday, May 23, with a production crew of roughly thirty-five scoping out the setting.
