High School Quiz Show Announces 2012 Tournament Bracket

High School Quiz Show, WGBH’s Emmy-Award winning fast-paced academic game show, announced the 2012 tournament bracket for the 16 Massachusetts public high school academic teams competing on season three of the show.

The 2012 qualifying team matchups and episode broadcast dates are:

Brookline vs. Seekonk – Feb. 12 

Hamilton-Wenham vs. Sharon – Feb. 19

Acton-Boxborough vs. Beverly – Feb. 26

Rockport vs. Somerville – March 4

Milton vs. Hingham – March 11

Lincoln-Sudbury vs. Lexington – March 18

Arlington vs. Belmont – March 25

Weston vs. Shrewsbury – April 1

All episodes premiere Sundays at 6:30 p.m. (repeating Saturdays at 6 p.m.) on WGBH 2.

Hosted by Billy Costa, High School Quiz Show is a single-elimination bracketed academic tournament, featuring qualifying matches, quarterfinals and semifinals, all leading up to a Massachusetts championship match.

High School Quiz Show is endorsed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This year, The Princeton Review will judge the televised competition and help the DESE vet the questions. All questions are aligned with the Massachusetts high school curriculum standards in subjects including literature, history, science, and math, as well as current events and general knowledge.
