I am ordinary woman

Christian Journey blog

I am an ordinary woman who has little spiritual gifts and talents. However, I always have a big heart for dreaming what I isn't good at or pioneer a new task that no one has done before. Is it worth my effort? Who knows? Sometimes, it requires several years to see the effect of my work.

My precious brother always complaint: "Why you could not lower your head on the ground? Look around and be more realistic. Always take on jobs that is beyond your capability and put your effort into tasks that no one is willing to do. Waste of your time. Always want to dream BIG and stand in the limelight." I have no answer and I keep my mouth shut.

I have no answer because the answer is beyond me and you have to ask God. Apostle Paul said, "For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!" (1 Corinthians 9:16)

I am just an ordinary woman with little knowledge and understanding. God makes me a dreamer with my head in the cloud. I could not help it. I am still learning what is God's will for me. In the meantime, whenever there is any need or new task assigned for me. I will take it for lack of self-evaluation and knowledge. "It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation." (Romans 15:20) In my humble heart, I said "Amen."

For me, it is a low risk item. I am just a lowly woman. Whatever I do? If I fail the task, so what? What is the big deal? I failed so many times in my life. One more failure does not hurt me but I can tell others that this is not the right way to do. If I am successful and able to do a little task for benefiting one little brother for the name of Jesus Christ. My gain in heaven is great!!! Jesus said: "And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward." (Matthew 10:42) When working for the name of Jesus, I have very thick skin and I just put my best effort to do the task. I understand my effort means nothing. I know that I am not a savior. Thank you God to know that I am only made of earthly dirt. God is taking the whole risk to fight the Egyptians, not mine. I just walk boldly with my head high. There is nothing to be ashamed of.

"His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.
He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
He has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble." (Luke 1:50-53)

In summary, my biggest strength is: "I understand that I am weak but my heavenly father is strong." I trust He is the one who is guiding me and opening doors for me. Without connected to Him, I could not do any thing. All are in vain.

"May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us-- yes, establish the work of our hands." (Psalm 90:17) Amen!!!
