ICYMI: Mother of Steve Carell Dies in Acton Home

ACTON, MA—The mother of actor Steve Carell, Acton native Harriet T. Carell, died Saturday at the age of 90.

The actor took to Twitter on Mother's day to announce the news.

Harriet passed away at the age of 90 peacefully in her Acton home surrounded by family and friends, according to Acton Funeral Home Director Kathleen Doran Boyle.

Harriet was the beloved wife of Edwin A. Carell, mother of Gregory, Michael, Timothy and Steve Carell, and was survived by six grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held at the Acton Funeral Home located at 470 Massachusetts Ave. on May 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral service and burial will be announced at a later date.

Steve attended the Fenn School in Concord, where he was born.
