CNN's "United Shades of America" features the Sikh American story. But who are the Sikhs and why should you care?

An incredible educational opportunity to learn about your Sikh neighbors, classmates and friends!
On Sunday May 6 at 10 pm, Kamau Bell's Emmy winning CNN show “United Shades of America” will air an hour-long episode focusing on the Sikh American story. Kids and adults alike, would find this informative.
Sikhs are the 5th largest organized religion in the world and perhaps the least understood in these United States. Often confused with other groups largely because of their appearance, Sikhs face an incredible amount of prejudice which often surfaces in the form of workplace discrimination as well as bullying at school, among other things as highlighted in this report which identifies Sikh kids amongst the most bullied groups in US - www.sikhcoalition.org/documents/pdf/go-home-terrorist.pdf . A lot of this emanates from a lack of awareness about who Sikhs really are.
