LAER Realty Partners Releases Its May Housing Report

Third Largest Real Estate Company Reviews May's Housing Market Trends

Boston, MA – June 23, 2016 – LAER Realty Partners, the third largest real estate company in Massachusetts with 22 locations and more than 400 agents, is proud to release its monthly housing report.

According to the report, the market is just beginning to heat up with average prices up in almost every market. Yet there is an exception of a handful of areas throughout the region, including Suffolk County where average single family prices have declined 11% year-over-year. In most counties throughout the Commonwealth, average prices are up between 1% and 9% year-over-year.

Early numbers are showing that there is still a massive shortage of inventory across the state. The majority of counties are seeing double-digit declines in the number of units coming on the market year-over-year. With the mixture of inventory shortage, low interest rates, and high demand, we can expect some very large price increases in the average single family and condo home prices.

“We are interested in seeing how the summer market pans out due to the fact that the report shows there is still an enormous shortage of inventory across Massachusetts,” said Stacey Alcorn, co-owner of LAER Realty Partners. “Prices are increasing and competition is rising in almost every market as a result.”

“We saw similar trends in the April market,” said Andrew Armata, co-owner of LAER Realty Partners. “The buyer demand and the shortage of inventory have continued to drive average prices up. We are looking forward to seeing how the summer market evolves.”
