LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Margaret Busse for Selectman

Margaret Busse has my vote for her candidacy as a Selectman of Acton because of her good character and her desire to help maintain Acton as a decent place to live.

My wife, Mary Lou, and I have been citizens of Acton for more than 45 years. Our three children received a good education in the Acton Public School system and grew up in a good safe neighborhood. Much of our positive feelings for this town have come from the dedicated service of many good town citizens who, over the years, have been willing to step up to the plate. They have given generously of their time and talents to this town as elected officials in our town government.

This tradition of electing town members who are willing to serve on the Acton Board of Selectmen is once again repeating its cycle. As citizens of this town, we have a vested interest in selecting good, honest and reputable citizens who will act as “watchmen on the tower” to direct the governmental affairs of this town for the benefit of its citizens.

We have known Margaret Busse for about four years and consider her and her family to be our friends. We have observed Margaret’s leadership skills through her long service as president of a woman’s organization in our church. She is a compassionate and caring person who has devoted much of her time, without financial compensation, to helping others to have better lives.

Margaret is a well-educated person with a good head on her shoulders. Her interests, as reflected by her college degrees in economics and finance, are toward the public sector. She has already stepped up to the plate by chairing a town committee to help create a viable master plan for Action. She has also served on the Action Planning Board since 2009.

I would encourage you to cast your vote for Margaret Busse who will serve us all well.
