LETTER TO THE EDITOR: My Vote is for Katie Green

In the upcoming Acton town election, I’m voting for Katie Green for Selectman for three key reasons.

First, Katie has experience with the state legislative process. She worked for four years as the legislative aide for one of Acton’s state representatives, where she developed a deep understanding of the issues important to the town. She also learned how to work with people from all backgrounds and plans to actively seek out differing viewpoints so that she can better represent the entire community. Her strengths in listening and communicating will serve her well on the Acton Board of Selectmen.

Second, Katie also has experience with leaders in neighboring communities, which is important when dealing with regionalization. As a product of the Hudson, Mass., public school system and the daughter of a long-time school committee member, she is a 26-year old Wellesley College graduate with an understanding of state issues and their impact on our town, a dedication to public service, and a commitment to this community. Her fresh perspective will be an asset to the town.

Third, Katie is smart, able and willing to put in the commitment to become an effective Selectman. When she moved to Acton over three years ago, the community welcomed her with open arms. As she began to meet people, she was taken by how devoted so many were to making the town the best that it could be. She was encouraged to get involved and currently volunteers on both the Acton Democratic Town Committee and the Acton-Area League of Women Voters. Her enthusiasm is contagious and she is organized and attentive to details.

This is why I am supporting Katie Green for Selectman and encourage my friends and neighbors to vote for her on March 26 in the Acton town election.
