LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Pledging Support for Katie Green
Acton Democratic Town Committee Chair Phyllis Novick says Green is the right choice for selectmen.

Katie Green is a special candidate for selectwoman because she brings to the office the important new viewpoint of a young single woman. Katie's youthful attitudes accept and embrace individual rights and enable her to use social media comfortably to communicate. She understands Acton's values and plans to support them, but will strive to balance expenditures and revenues to keep costs down for young people trying to live independently in Acton
Moving here three years ago, Katie loves living in Acton and has shown this by her willingness to join volunteer organizations. As a member of the League of Women Voters she has encouraged Acton voters to be knowledgeable about the candidates and to exercise their right to vote in local, state and national elections.

The Acton Democratic Town Committee welcomed Katie as member three years ago and voted to have her serve as secretary last year. As Chair of the ADTC I have found that she is a willing volunteer and a conscientious, hard working Secretary.
Katie Green served as Acton's Representative Jen Benson's legislative aide, working on legislation and answering questions from the constituency. Katie often explained specific state laws, policies or agencies at our committee meetings. Her understanding of issues was clear. This is an invaluable skill for a selectwoman aiming to help Acton work with the state.

The Green family were deeply involved in education as Katie's father served on the Hudson School Committee for 18 years and her sister works as a special education teacher. Katie learned to value public education and graduated from Hudson High School and later Wellesley College. Her family's example will continue to guide her on the Acton Board of Selectman.
Katie is a dedicated young woman with the knowledge to make government serve us and I hope you’ll join me in voting for her on Tuesday, March 26.
