LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Romaniak Will Make a Great Selectman

I did volunteer work with Eric Romaniak last year.  Some of it involved long hours and inter-personal stress that was unavoidable. Eric was a breath of fresh air because he worked hard, was always nice, and never lost his cool. I think he can get along with anyone, even those he strongly disagrees with. In our current era of confrontation, Eric can get the job done while staying on good terms with all sides.
 
Eric puts the Acton Schools first, but he is otherwise a fiscal conservative.  He also believes in open government with key decisions viewable by the public.  Negotiations should often be done in private.  However, for the Selectman to present a unanimous position in Town Meetings may not be always best.  Without taking the time for Selectman debates in Town Meetings, I think a brief minority report might be given on every important decision.
 
I hope that Acton voters seriously consider Eric Romaniak for this important job.
