Lowell Man to Face Charges in Recent Acton Bank Robbery Case

The following arrest information was supplied by the Acton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Acton police arrested a Lowell man Tuesday night they believe is connected to the April 17 armed bank robbery at Middlesex Savings Bank at 577 Massachusetts Ave.

According to Sgt. Ray Grey, Rafael Beamund, Jr., 32, was arrested in Salem, N.H. and was planned to be charged federally today with robbing TD Bank in Methuen.

"Beamund is believed to have used a firearm to hold up over a dozen banks in the region," Grey said in a release. "A combination of fingerprint evidence, tips and a witness that assisted the Acton Police Department to produce an outstanding sketch of the suspect (led) to the capture."
