ACTON, MA — A Massachusetts teenager now has bragging rights for life after conquering an expedition to Mount Everest's summit — the highest peak in the world — with money he raised from his gaming YouTube channel.
Ryan Mitchell, 19, from Rutland told NBC10 Boston that he trained for the climb for over a year about being inspired by the idea of having "I climbed Mount Everest" as the title of one of his YouTube videos.
He left for the trip on April 19 and spent 42 days making the trek before finally reaching the summit last week.
