Mo Kenney at New Revival Coffeehouse in Stow

Award-winning Canadian singer/songwriter/guitarist Mo Kenney closes the season at the New Revival Coffeehouse in Stow on Saturday, April 2.

Canadian singer/songwriter Mo Kenney, known for her lyrical prowess and engaging stage presence, will grace the stage of the New Revival Coffeehouse at First Parish Church in Stow on Saturday, April 2.

Kenney’s songs and CDs have won multiple awards, including the East Coast Music Award for Pop Recording of the Year in both 2014 and 2015. Her song “I Faked It” won the folk division in the 2015 U.S.A. Songwriting Competition. She won no less than four Music Nova Scotia awards in 2015. And her new CD, In My Dreams, has been nominated for a fresh crop of prizes in 2016.

U.K. website Music Liberation rated that CD second of its top ten albums of 2015. Music Liberation writer Jon Sidwell wrote, “In My Dreams is a confident, thoughtful, and wholly satisfying collection of tracks which contemplate each other and ultimately lends itself to an enchanting listening experience. Lead single ‘Telephones’ has some lovely harmonies, whilst you’d be forgiven for thinking that ‘Untouchable’ was sung by some big band diva, such is the power and rawness that comes out. It’s not all about the vocals though, Mo is a very talented guitarist and this is evident throughout this record.”

Said Sadie Hale of Flazeda,“With her gentle voice, knack for writing ear-worms and easy-going, amicable stage presence, Mo is a self-contained star who nonetheless emits endearing humility and likability.”

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Homemade desserts and refreshments will be available to purchase. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door; advance tickets are available at www.BrownPaperTickets.com. The coffeehouse is located in the Fellowship Hall of First Parish Church of Stow & Acton, 353 Great Rd. (corner of 117 & 62), Stow. For more information, call 978-274-2593.
