Open House & Ingathering Sunday at FPC Sept. 12 & 13

The First Parish Church of Stow & Acton (FPC), Unitarian Universalist, offers an open house and Ingathering Sunday service.

The First Parish Church of Stow & Acton (FPC), Unitarian Universalist, officially begins the fall season the weekend of Sept. 12 to 13 with an open house and its annual Ingathering Sunday service.

On Saturday, Sept. 12, FPC will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 12 pm. FPC is a welcoming place for folks of all ages. The open house will begin in its Community Room and include a tour of the church, as well as a chance to meet the minister and some of the staff and volunteer leaders of the church. There will information about many different church programs and about Unitarian Universalism, as well as an opportunity to ask questions. Although there will be plenty to interest adults, the morning will be especially geared toward families with children who are interested in learning about the Religious Education (RE) program. Please feel free to bring your children so that they can become familiar with the church and enjoy some activities while adults are learning about the RE program and the church in general.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, everyone is invited to attend the Ingathering Service at either 9 or 11 a.m. These will be uplifting services with music from members of the FPC Jazz Band, choirs, and soloists under the leadership of Music Director Mike Pfitzer and pianist/organist Sanghee Kim. The Rev. Tom Rosiello will lead worship and preach a sermon entitled “Why Go to Church?” Director of Religious Education Michelle Cote will present a message for children and youth introducing them to our RE program. Also participating in the service will be the church’s new intern, Minister Ilene Gilispie. A special Ingathering coffee hour will follow both services where additional information about the church and Unitarian Universalism will be available.
