Over 150 Acton Soccer Players Raise Money For Cancer Research
The 4th annual Kicks 4 Casey Charity Soccer Tournament raised close to $5,000 to support sarcoma cancer research.
ACTON, MA — Acton athletes showed up in droves to play a fun soccer tournament while supporting a good cause. The 4th annual Kicks 4 Casey Charity Soccer Tournament brought over 150 people out to help raise money for sarcoma cancer research. The event raised close to $5,000.
The charity event started four years ago and was founded in memory of lifelong Acton resident Mark Casey, former Teamworks Acton employee and customer. An active member of the Acton community – Casey was a part of the Acton Emergency Management Agency and a friend to many of Acton’s first responders.
Casey received treatment from Dr. Edwin Choy, Director of Sarcoma Clinical Research and Clinical Director of Sarcoma Oncology at Mass General, and passed away in 2016 after a year and a half battle with soft tissue sarcoma.
