PHOTOS: Faces of 9/11 in Acton

Here are a few local people and businesses who have volunteered to help construct the Acton 9/11 Memorial.

Many local businesses have donated time, money and expertise to help construct the Acton 9/11 Memorial that will be unveiled Sunday at the Acton Public Safety Facility. 

In this particular photo gallery, Acton Patch focused on a few of those who got their hands dirty creating the memorial.

  • John Durkin (Onyx Corporation) have partnered with Dan Lenox (Lenox landscaping) to do the granite curbing and brick work.
  • Jim Fenton (James Fenton & Sons),
  • David Calkins (Colmer Monuments), a retired firefighter from Acton, managed the granite work for the memorial.
  • Pyro Equipment Service made the brackets to attach the steel to the memorial.
  • Chris McDonough (C.A.M. Electric) did all the electrical work.
  • Kennedy & Company Landscaping
  • George Dimakarakos (Stamski & McNary, Inc.) has done all the engineering and final designs for the project.
  • Jay Dolan (International Collision)
  • Kevin Shea (KTS Granite Lettering) handled all the sandblasting of the bricks.
