Senator Eldridge Surprises ABRHS Volunteers at Mt. Calvary Community Supper
Students Honored for Commitment to Mt. Calvary Community Supper
Senator Jamie Eldridge surprised 3 senior student volunteers at Mt. Calvary Community Supper Wednesday May 4th. Ben Dempsey, a volunteer since 8th grade and Josh Lovering and Sam Valle, both volunteers throughout high school, were all presented citations for their commitment and dedication to assisting at the Supper every Wednesday evening. Senator Eldridge spoke to the boys and their parents about his personal experience in the same role when he was a student in Acton. Since being established in 2012, Mt. Calvary Community Supper has welcomed the Senator on many occasions as he has sponsored and hosted dinners for the guests. We are sincerely grateful for his support and acknowledgement of the need for the Supper as it strives to alleviate hunger and social isolation for our neighbors in need in our community.
Our best wishes to Ben, Sam and Josh as they move forward with their education in college. Ben will be attending UNH. Sam will head out to Iowa State University. Josh has accepted at WPI. We earnestly hope that the experiences they have had while volunteering at Mt. Calvary Community Supper have instilled in them a live long commitment to community service for those in need of their compassion and caring. The boys represent the Youth of the future. We are all so fortunate to have had them in our lives for so long.
