SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL HUNGER MONTH
MT. CALVARY COMMUNITY SUPPER of ACTON SEEKS YOUR SUPPORT FOR OUR NEIGHBORS
During the month of September the Nation will be focusing on providing assistance for those experiencing food insecurity. The Mt. Calvary Community Supper, the only active community supper in Acton, asks for your support to serve our neighbors in need of a nutritious meal and friendship. The dinner is served every Wednesday night offering a tasty, freshly prepared meal free of charge to all who join us at the Mt Calvary Lutheran Church. Totally staffed by volunteers, the meal typically consists of rolls, fresh fruit, fresh salad, vegetables, potatoes or pasta, entrée, dessert and beverages. Serving approximately 100 dinners each week, our goal is to alleviate hunger and social isolation.

Since being reestablished in April of 2012, over 30,000 meals have been served to our neighbors in need. Between 5pm and 6 pm, families with children, singles, groups of friends and seniors all sit down to enjoy a meal in the light, airy hall of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church at 472 Mass Avenue in Acton. Each week tables are set with fresh flowers to provide a welcoming atmosphere. On special holidays and occasions, the dining room is decorated so that all guests are included in the celebration.
As a non-profit organization, Mt Calvary Community Supper sincerely appreciates sponsorship from charities, religious groups, scouts, students and local businesses. As our number of guests grows, Mt. Calvary Community Supper is also seeking your support. Should you, individually or with a group of friends, wish to recognize a loved one, please consider donating a unique gift of love by joining Mt. Calvary Community Supper in the fight to alleviate hunger and social isolation for our neighbors in need. $30 will provide ten guests a 3 course dinner. An entire night’s supper for all who come can be provided for $300. Should you wish to sponsor a meal, we welcome you to join us as cooks and /or servers throughout the evening.
