Squirrel's Nest Sparks Acton Car Fire
Acton fire officials said the fire on Carriage Drive was caused by a squirrel's nest in the front end of the car.
ACTON, MA — A car fire in Acton on Monday morning served as a reminder for drivers to check under the hood before warming up their cars this winter. Acton fire officials said the blaze that charred the front end of the car likely started in a squirrel's nest.
The fire happened on Carriage Drive. Crews doused the flames with hoses. There was no immediate word on if anyone was injured.
The car was left with no hood or front bumper — among other damage — and burns to the inside driver's seat.
