Straight Outta Acton: Famous Faces from Your Hometown

ACTON, MA—Steve Carell, the wonky, nerdy, golden globe-winning actor, grew up in Acton!

Carell has appeared hundreds of projects on the big and small screens, but is perhaps best known for his role as Michael Scott in the hit TV show, The Office. He is also well-known for playing Brick Tamland in the movies Anchorman and Anchorman 2 and many other blockbuster hits.

Carell later attended The Middlesex School and The Fenn School in Concord. He later attended Dennison College in Ohio.

Recently, Carell showed his acting range in the oscar-nominated film Foxcatcher by playing John du Pont, the estranged millionaire who killed Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz who was a member of the Foxcatcher Wrestling Team.

Carell and his wife Nancy Walls live in Los Angeles. They have two children.
