Tailgaters Grille in Acton Does Not Have Wet T-Shirt Contests

It appears someone has been posting false comments on Acton Patch, while leading readers to believe the comments came from the owners of the new Tailgaters Grille restaurant in Acton.

This is a tale of misrepresentation and, well, mischief.

Since March, someone has been posting comments on Patch in such a way that led readers to believe the posts came from one of the owners of Tailgaters Grille, a new restaurant that opened in Acton in April. The commenter said that Tailgaters Grille would start holding wet T-shirt contests.

Owners Kimberly Gehlerg and Dean Weeks told Acton Patch that they have not logged onto Acton Patch and made such comments.

Posted on Acton Patch and , someone with the user name Kimberly and Kim has made several comments addressing readers as “Hello from Dean and Kimberly,” and going on to state that there would be wet T-shirt contests at the Acton Tailgaters Grille. (Editor's note: the comments have since been deleted).

These comments have sparked discussions from Acton Patch readers about the appropriateness of having such an event in an Acton restaurant.

According to Kim Reardon, manager of the Tailgater Grille in Acton, there will absolutely not be wet T-shirt contests.

“This is not the kind of place that does wet T-shirt contests,” said Reareon. “We provide a family atmosphere here – it is not just a local town bar. I mean, kids eat free on Sundays.”
