VIDEO: C.T. Douglas Opens 1992 Time Capsule

Last summer the C.T. Douglas Elementary custodian found a 1992 time capsule buried in the basement of the school.

Principal Chris Whitbeck always knew about the myth of the time capsule that the 1992 elementary school made but never knew he would stumble across it one day. As the story goes, each class from the 1992 school placed various items into a time capsule and tried to bury it on school property. They never got around to actually placing it in the ground for whaterver reason but future generations always thought that it was just thrown away. That was until last summer when a custodian found it hidden deep in the basement.

Whitbeck decided it would be great to invite former C.T. Douglas Principal Lisette Kaplowit (1987-2004) back to unveil the items in the capsule to all the students and staff. On Tuesday, May 1, each class from Douglas crammed into the cafeterium to not only see what kinds of things the 1992 classes placed in the capsule but also to put their own items from 2012 back into the time capsule that they plan to bury on their property at the end of the school year.
