Wanted by ICE, Deported Fugitive Gets Pulled Over in Boxborough

Eduardo Alementa Torres was pulled over in Boxborough Saturday morning and it was discovered that he is wanted by homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Saturday, Sept. 24, 48 year-old Eduardo Alementa Torres, from Marlborough, MA, was arrested in Boxborough and charged with: Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, 6th offense; operating with a suspended registration; operating an unregistered vehicle; possessing an open container of liquor in a vehicle; operating with a suspended driver’s license; giving a false name to a police officer and operating without an inspection sticker.

Torres was stopped by Boxborough Police Patrolman, Nathan Bowolick, when he noticed Torres had an expired inspection sticker. When he stopped the vehicle, Bowolick noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Torres and there was an open bottle of beer on the passenger seat. Torres did not have a driver’s license and gave Bowolick a false name. Torres gave a breath test with the result being .09%

"Further investigation revealed that Torres was a previously deported fugitive," according to a press release from the Boxborough Police Department. "He was wanted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It was also determined that Torres had three prior convictions for operating under the influence of liquor in California and two prior convictions in Massachusetts."

Torres is being held without bail and will be arraigned at the Ayer District Court today at 9 a.m.
