This is the first in a series of brief position statements by Ann Wofford, candidate for U.S. Representative for the 3rd Congressional District, addressing concerns of area citizens.
The economy.
The economy is still a major concern for most people, whether you're employed or not. Those with jobs talk about wage stagnation and feeling trapped, unable to find a better job. Those without jobs feel fear and frustration. Government intervention through excessive regulations, taxes and mandates such as the Affordable Care Act are prohibiting businesses from growing. For these reasons, I support less government intervention and zero based budgeting. Congress needs to balance its checkbook, just like we all do. It's about having a different perspective on how government affects our lives. If you keep electing the same people, nothing will change.
