As terrorist attacks accelerate around the world and in the U.S., national and local security concerns us all. Protecting our citizens should be an obligation of our elected officials. Securing our borders is one step toward that goal. My grandmother emigrated from Ireland and I have brothers in law who emigrated from Sri Lanka and Iraq. I believe firmly in LEGAL immigration, but our immigration laws need to be enforced. Sanctuary Cities protect no one and, in fact, violate Federal law, and, therefore, those cities should be ineligible for any federal funding. We need new eyes, a new perspective and new ideas as we seek better solutions to security and safety for all.
